Been Too Long

Hello Everyone,
I know I have not written a blog for over a month. I apologize for letting my circumstances get in the way of letting you know what is happening.

Look it is snowing...:). It is a white January 22nd where I am. I know it has been raining like crazy everywhere. Stay dry!

To recap over the last month and a half Luv-em-up continues on and people are being blessed. It is still amazing to see the love of those who attend there. A man named Tim said he was quitting smoking. That is so amazing because he has been addicted for such a long time and now he was actually quitting, since he had said he wanted to over and over but couldn't muster the desire. There are other stories of people in Luv-em-up quitting smoking as complete miracles. I guess those are always complete miracles.

There is a camp coming up at the end of March titled Transformed. Man that is a challenge to me right now to live as a new creation and as a changed man in Christ. He is able though. Quick encouragement for all. I was reading in Luke 22 about Jesus praying with such fervency so he sweat like drops of blood. He said in verse 42 "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." In all of your day lets say not my will but yours.

I know this is a long one but I want to share something God just struck me with. I just realized that so much of my struggles is to actually love. Jesus gave up so much for us and how am I giving of myself for others in love for Him.

As I have mentioned before I have been partnered with 2 others to serve the youth that come to our church. We have a Jr. High night on Tuesdays and have just started as of this month a High School night on Thursdays. So that is pretty neat. So far there are roughly 20 in the Jr. High and 5 have come to our High School night. So we will see how many He brings. Side note: I just had my first budgeting meeting...:). Good to know better how to be good stewards with God's money.

We also have one monthly event for just guys and girls and then one combined event per month. Recently there was a New Years event and more are to come like, winter camp, visiting the mud caves in the desert, a BMX outreach at the school in Julian, Rock Climbing, Beach trips, etc. You can pray that it does not become about the events but about loving those kids and doing everything we can to help them see Jesus. I will put some pictures of different events we have had so enjoy.
