11-3-09

Another week has gone by and it was very busy. This last weekend we had a camp for Luv-em-up Ministries (LEU) in Julian, CA. It was kind of funny to go back home for camp while everyone else was going away for camp. So it was a very busy last 5 or 6 days or so. We still had our regular LEU meeting on Monday, then errands, soccer practice for a little league team, and youth tonight. So I am pretty tired.

The first half of camp was very difficult for me. It took me a while to get into the groove and then also for the campers to get more comfortable. Schedules, teams, cabins, who is taking who in what van to what activity (remember some have walkers or just can't walk up the hills that kids can in the "regular" program camps-whatever that means). Then I was a counselor with 10 in my cabin. It was hard to keep track of everyone and help everyone in my cabin. It was a great weekend for me personally to trust in Him and just love those around me. I probably did not do a great job of that most of the time but it got better and that is good. :) I had a really cool time of prayer with one boy who was in my cabin after being pretty scared.

Quick story:
I had a girl named Emily come up to me on Saturday afternoon just as I was going to play on the rocks at camp with a camper asking me, "Aaron, why does God keep talking to me?" This kind of threw me off because I just was not expecting this Q. We talked about God loving her, conviction, and God wanting a relationship with us - she got it and later thanked me for helping her. God just put me in that conversation because I definitely was not looking for it. I did not know what to say at first but then I remembered that God orchestrated this conversation and He would help me. She asked me the next day where she could talk to God.

That is a little about camp. We also got to go on the Zipline which is a favorite at Camp Wynola, shot archery, paintball, made crafts, ate good food, slept...sometimes :).

P.S. A little side note - when I went to LEU Monday night I had a connection with those what were at camp and that was really cool.

Ok Blessings - He has given us everything we need for life and godliness :)
